Using EP Languages to support students in tests and exams

Education Perfect Languages offers an online language learning suite of authentic, curriculum-aligned content that contains a large bank of levelled skills-based lessons. These are based on authentic contexts ranging from Novice low - Advanced low/Pre A1-B1.

This article contains some ideas for using the Education Perfect Languages platform to support preparation for examinations or proficiency tests

Use EP Assessments

  • Assign a Quiz based on one of the EP levelled skills lessons (listening, reading, writing or speaking). You can choose thematic-based skills lessons ranging from Novice - Advanced.
EP will grade the quiz for you, and automatically assign students level-appropriate tasks on each skill to provide them with a personalized revision programme.

Folders showing the skills based lessons in the Content Library

  • Assign a Quiz for a quick temperature check to gauge where your students are at and what their next steps should be. Track student progress to see exactly how they are progressing

Here is an example of one of our Pre-Built Assessments:

Provide feedback to students

  • Discuss assessment criteria and grading rubrics with students and then use the peer review functionality to ask students to review each others’ work.

Use platform engagement features to support student preparation

  • Create a competition based on a particular skill folder! This can be over any period of time and will encourage students to complete their revision tasks.
  • Encourage students to complete revision lessons so it unlocks EP's game feature, Dash

Work together as a class or in groups

  • Work through reading and listening questions together as a class to provide students with examples of how to tackle a reading comprehension question and provide them with strategies. Full-screen mode can support using the platform with an entire class.
  • Students can work in groups on all of the skills-based lessons - supporting each other and sharing their strategies and knowledge.
