How do I get a log from the Developer Console?

Learn how to extract a log from your browser's Developer Console to troubleshoot Education Perfect (EP) errors. Follow our quick steps to open console settings, capture error details, and download logs to share with support.

The Developer Console is a collection of tools that can be utilised to identify bugs.


With some technical issues, there are a lot of different things that could be going wrong. Your browser’s developer console sometimes contains valuable information about what isn’t working, which can be helpful for our Development Team when they’re trying to find the cause of an issue.

Google Chrome

Microsoft Edge

  1. Press F12 to open the developer tools (alternatively, click on the Settings menu in the upper right-hand corner of the browser and select ‘Developer Tools’ from the drop-down menu).

  2. Make sure that the ‘Console’ tab is selected.

Safari

To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. Press Option + Command + C after encountering the issue in Safari.

  2. Take a full-screen screenshot.

Alternatively:

  1. In the menu bar, click Develop > Show Error Console after encountering the issue in Safari.

  2. If you don’t see this option in the menu bar, choose Safari > Preferences, click Advanced, then select “Show Develop menu in menu bar”.
