How do students and staff log in to EP using Google?

This article explains how students and staff can log in to Education Perfect with a Google account, fix common sign-in issues, and set up EP as a trusted app in Google Workspace.

Teachers and students can now log in to EP with Google. It's entirely optional, so you can still sign in with your username and password or with Single Sign-On (SSO) as usual.

Log in with Google

From the login page, click Log in with Google.

The email associated with your EP account must be a Google email address.

  • If you're already signed in to Google, clicking Log in with Google logs you straight in. If you have more than one active Google account, Google will prompt you to select an account first.

  • If you're not currently signed in, clicking Log in with Google takes you to the Google sign-in page.

  • If you log in with a valid Google account that isn't associated with your EP account, you'll be sent to the Unregistered account screen.

Approving Education Perfect as a trusted app for Google logins

Google requires Google Workspace admins to explicitly review and confirm access settings for third-party apps, including Education Perfect. See Google's guidance on confirming third-party app settings.

⚠️ Important: If EP isn't confirmed as a trusted app, users identified as under 18 may experience issues.

To enable students to log in to EP using their Google accounts, your school must approve Education Perfect as a trusted app in your Google Workspace Admin Console.

Option 1: Configure EP in your Admin Console

  1. Go to your Google Admin Console at admin.google.com.

  2. To open App access control, go to Security > Access and data control > API Controls > App access control > Manage App Access in the left-hand menu.

  3. Select Configure new app, and search for this exact app: 430570409041-8abi729q8fqv19hilh00hnkoqcadhuag.apps.googleusercontent.com. Don't include "http://" in the search term.

  4. Select the resulting web app. Under scope, select All organisational units (OUs) to enable access, then click Continue.

  5. Under Access to Google data, select Trusted. This enables users under 18 to log in via Google.

  6. Click Continue, review your selections, then click Finish to complete setup.

Option 2: Request access from a student login

Reach out to us with a student email address that can be used to test this functionality. We'll let you know once the account has been created in EP under its Google-affiliated email address.

  1. Have your student attempt to log in to their Education Perfect account at app.educationperfect.com or app.ca.educationperfect.com.

  2. Click Log in with Google.

  3. Click Request access. The Request submitted screen appears.

  4. You can now view Education Perfect under apps pending review in your Google Admin Console. Here you can configure access for EP as a trusted app for all organisational units (OUs), and complete setup.

Too many accounts in the EP Student app

If you're sharing a single device with other students, you won't be able to log in any additional students once 10 accounts have been logged in to the app.

If you need to log in with another account, you can sign out all users at once by following these steps:

  1. Tap Help at the bottom of the Google account selection page within the app.

Google Choose an account screen with the Help link highlighted

  2. This takes you to a Google Support page. From there, click the user profile in the top right corner of the screen.

  3. At the bottom of the menu, tap Sign out of all accounts. This signs out all 10 of the Google accounts that were logged in to the app.
