Navigating through the Teacher interface

This article explains how to find your way around the EP teacher interface, including the left-hand navigation, header search, settings and profile, Classes hub, and Discover, so you can find content, manage classes, and assign work to students.

This article gives you a quick tour of the teacher interface on Education Perfect.

Getting around

The teacher interface keeps navigation simple, so you can access the tools you need, when you need them.

It’s easy to find and assign work to students and understand student and class progress. Classes are a big focus within the platform, and class management is straightforward.

What’s in the teacher interface?

Left-hand navigation

The left-hand global navigation gives you quick access to EP tools.

The Settings cog and profile menu have moved from the bottom of the left-hand navigation to the top-right corner. With settings out of the left-hand navigation, class shortcuts sit higher and are easier to see, especially on smaller laptop screens.

Header: search, settings, and profile

The header at the top of the page now holds search, settings, and your profile.

  • Search: A search bar sits in the header on every page, including your Home page, so you can search all EP and custom content from anywhere in EP. The Library page has its own search bar instead. See Finding content on EP to learn how search works.

  • Settings and profile: The Settings cog and your profile menu are now in the top-right corner of the header on every page. They used to sit at the bottom of the left-hand navigation. Nothing has been removed, only moved.

Classes hub

The Classes hub gives you a class-focused view directly in the left-hand navigation, so you can reach your classes and students from anywhere on EP. Each class is identified by its two-letter initials and custom colour.

Shows 'People' tab of a class.

Click into a class to see an overview of how that class is progressing through assigned work. You get full class context at a glance, which makes class management easier.

Discover content

Use the Discover tool to find and assign EP content. Select a subject and browse by topic based on the desired curriculum, subject, syllabi, and level.

The EP Content Library is in the Library tab.

Once you’re viewing your topic of choice, you’ll see a list of lessons sequenced to progress students through units of work and achieve specific learning outcomes. From here, you can easily assign work to students.

Discover makes it easier to find the content you need, assign units of work, and map progress to curriculum-aligned outcomes.

In the meantime, you can search from anywhere in EP, or find all content within the Library tab.

How can I manage accounts and classes?

The School Accounts area, found under the Settings cog in the top-right corner of the header, enables teachers to view key details and settings for their school.

Alongside this, our School Administrator role gives nominated users extended permissions to edit key details and manage school settings directly. Learn more about accessing your account details and school settings.

We’re working to set more of these up, and more will be added over time. Check back regularly to see what’s been added, search from anywhere in EP, or use the Library tab to access all other content.
