Wonde and Education Perfect FAQ

Is there any cost associated with setting up a Wonde integration?

No, the integration is completely free!

What are the benefits of this integration?

The Wonde integration saves valuable time for you and your teachers by automatically syncing classes to Education Perfect from your school's SIS. It ensures all required teachers and students have prompt access to EP and provides you with control over which classes are included.

How does the integration work?

  1. A contact at your school (typically from IT or with timetable edit permissions) sets up a regular sync of data from your SIS to Wonde.
  2. The EP Support Team connects your Education Perfect school to your Wonde entity.
  3. Any School Administrator can configure which classes to automatically sync from Wonde. Changes made to these classes in your SIS will be automatically reflected in Education Perfect after the next sync.

What happens once our classes are synced via Wonde?

  • Configured classes are automatically created and updated in EP based on your SIS.
  • Users remain in sync; removing a user from a class in your SIS also removes them from the EP class.

How do I make changes to the users or classes created by Wonde?

  • Any required changes (e.g., student / teacher movements) must be made in your source SIS, and they will be automatically reflected in Education Perfect (EP) after the next sync.
  • Accounts in Wonde-managed classes cannot be manually changed by teachers in EP; their name and email are uneditable.

Teachers can still manage classes they aren’t associated with on EP.

What do I do if the Year Level or Subject of my Wonde managed class is incorrect?

Teachers can still manually update the class name, subject, and year level within EP via the class Settings tab. Teachers must assign all intended subjects for content access.

How often are details synced from Wonde?

The Wonde integration automatically syncs data daily from Wonde to EP between 8PM and 6AM NZDT.  To ensure all previous day's SIS updates are captured, you should set up your SIS to Wonde sync to run before 8PM NZDT. For your schools specific daily sync time, your School Administrator can check this within the Settings of the Wonde integration in EP.

Can I manually trigger a sync from Wonde to EP?

Yes, as long as you are a School Administrator you can:

  1. Navigate to Integrations in your school’s EP settings.
  2. Click the Sync button.

How can I check the status of a sync?

School Administrators can view the status of each Wonde sync by navigating to Settings and then Enrolments. Each sync can indicate three possibilities:

  1. Pending: The sync is currently running.
  2. Successful: All classes and associated users were synced to EP without problems.
  3. Issues exist: One or more classes or teachers/students failed to sync, and a file with error details is available for download.

How do I update which classes are syncing from Wonde to EP?

School Administrators can update classes syncing from Wonde to EP at any time by:

  1. Navigating to the Integrations space within your school settings in EP.
  2. Locating the Wonde integration card and clicking Configure.
  3. Adding or removing classes using the activation toggles.
  4. Clicking the Sync classes button in the top right corner.

What to do if one of my classes or teachers/students are missing?

Possible reasons for missing classes or teachers/students include:

  • The class or user has not been added in your SIS
  • The class or user has not been included in the EP integration configuration
  • An issue with the associated class / user data is preventing the sync

​​What happens when a student or teacher is removed from my SIS?

When a student or teacher is removed from classes in your SIS, they are automatically removed from those Wonde-synced classes in Education Perfect. Their EP account remains active until manually deactivated by a School Administrator in the People area of your school settings. They will remain associated with any non-Wonde managed classes they are in.

What happens at the end of the school year? (Pausing the automated syncs)

To prevent undesired class changes in EP at the end of the school year, or during major timetable updates, it is recommended that a School Administrator pause the automatic sync from Wonde to EP. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Integrations space within your school settings in EP.
  2. Click on the cog icon next to the Sync classes button within the Wonde integration card.
  3. Disable the automatic Wonde sync setting.

We recommend you also temporarily remove any class from your Wonde configuration in EP that you plan to make large scale account changes to. Once all required updates have been made, you can re-activate any required class and the automatic syncs can be switched back on.

What data is included in the sync?

The data permissions we request in Wonde are for creating teacher and student accounts and adding them to their required classes. The specific fields used vary by your SIS. For a full breakdown of the fields, contact the Wonde Support Team.

Can we choose to exclude some teachers/students?

Yes! Once your account with Wonde and data sync are set up, you can use Wonde’s Access Controls to specify which teachers or students to exclude from the sync. Instructions are available in our configuration guide.

Can Wonde sync from a custom timetable or view?

Wonde is unable to sync data from a custom timetable or view within any SIS; any such set up will not be reflected via the automated Wonde sync.

Where can I find Privacy & Security information about Wonde?

Wonde is ST4S assessed & Badge Registered as well as ISO 27001 certified.

Wonde has been granted its Cyber Essentials Plus certification, and PEN testing is performed monthly by an independent body.

Wonde’s technology is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sydney. AWS has certification for compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013, 27017:2015, 27018:2019, and ISO/IEC 9001:2015.

Sounds good! How do we get started? 

The integration setup process, which must be completed by someone with authority to approve access to school data, involves three steps:

  1. Have one of your School Administrators contact our Support Team to request connection and receive a Wonde invitation.
  2. Create your school's Wonde account, then review and approve the connection request for EP.
  3. Once approved, EP is notified the connection is live, and our Support Team will contact you with next steps (Wonde will contact you directly about any data issues).
