Cookies used in Education Perfect application

At Education Perfect, we use a small number of cookies in our web application (not to be confused with our marketing site). This is to support core functionality, improve the user experience, and keep accounts secure.

Education Perfect does not store sensitive customer data or personally identifiable information in cookies.

Below is an overview of the cookies and services used:

EP Authentication

  • Used to sign you into the Education Perfect application and keep your session active.
  • These cookies are secure and only contain information needed to verify your account during your session.
  • They do not expose any personally identifiable information (PII).

Analytics & User experience

  • Amplitude: Cookie used for product analytics; stores information related to the user session.
  • Hotjar: Cookie used for product analytics and surveys; stores information related to the user session.

Product Tours & Support

  • Appcues: Cookie used for in-product tours; stores information related to the user session.
  • HelpScout: Cookie used for in-product help (Beacon integration); stores a device identifier to provide support history for the device.

Performance & Security

  • AWS Application Load Balancer: Cookie used to balance load across Education Perfect services; AWS commits to not storing any sensitive customer information.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: Cookie used for cheating detection based on reCAPTCHA; stores information related to the user session.
  • Cloudflare: Cookie used to manage load across Education Perfect services and protect the services from malicious traffic; these cookies do not store any sensitive customer information.

Embedded Content

  • YouTube: If enabled by your school, lesson slides may include embedded YouTube videos. YouTube may set its own cookies when videos are played. No Education Perfect account or personal data is shared with YouTube.
