Customising and managing assessment settings

Once content is selected, configure these options:

  • Number of attempts: By default, students have one attempt, but you can allow multiple attempts if desired. The highest score will be recorded as the final grade.
  • Access code: Only teachers see the access code, which can be distributed to students when you’re ready for them to start.
  • Full-screen mode: Enabling this feature helps ensure students stay on the assessment page. Teachers will be notified if students navigate away.
  • Results and self-mark options: EP will automatically mark assessments where possible, though Extended Response questions will require manual grading by teachers or self-marking by students. Choosing By Student allows students to self-assess after submission, encouraging reflection and review.
  • Withhold results: This option allows you to control when students can view their scores.

Email Notifications

By default, notifications are disabled. If you enable them:

  • Students receive an email two hours before the start time, but it won’t include the access code.
  • Parents can also receive a copy of student emails, keeping them informed (when their email addresses are registered in EP).
