What is Senior Exam Revision?
EP's Senior Exam Revision gives students exam-style revision questions with immediate, personalised feedback and specific pointers on long-form responses, to help improve their exam outcomes.
What Senior Exam Revision coverage is currently available?
We currently have selected exam-style revision questions across Victoria (VIC), New South Wales (NSW), and Queensland (QLD). You can view all available subjects.
Where can I find Senior Exam Revision content in Discover?
In Discover, select your curriculum, subject, and senior year level. If we have exam revision content for the selected subject, it will show at the top of the page.
To check which subjects are covered, see the full list of available subjects.
Are the questions aligned to the syllabus?
Yes. We prioritise curriculum integrity so you can trust the material you’re putting in front of your students. Our question banks are:
Exam-aligned: Every question mimics the specific structure, command verbs, and rigour of authentic external assessments.
Unit-specific: Content is organised by topic, making it easy to pull relevant practice that matches your current teaching schedule.
Diagnostic-ready: Because our standards match high-stakes testing, student performance is a reliable indicator of exam readiness for both formative and summative goals.
How accurate is the AI feedback compared to real examiner marking? Does this replace teacher marking?
Senior marking is high stakes. Feedback that misapplies a criterion or misses an error sends a student into revision with the wrong idea, so we set a hard minimum for it and gate every subject release on that.
We benchmarked against teacher-written feedback, not other AI tools. Teachers and our AI each wrote feedback on the same real student responses. The two were then compared through a marking moderation model (the process used to check consistency between examiners) on the same points:
Is the error correctly identified?
Are the rubric criteria applied accurately?
Is the student told what to do next?
The minimum we set was 80% of the quality of a teacher’s own feedback on the same response. Every subject we release clears it, and most exceed it.
You can see all feedback alongside the response it relates to, and you keep full oversight.
How does AI feedback in the Senior Exam Revision Tool align to official marking rubrics?
Our AI tool generates an indicative mark and feedback based on the rubric provided for each question. Every rubric in the Senior Exam Revision Tool is designed to reflect what students would see in an exam-style situation, and is reviewed and tested by EP’s education specialists alongside experienced subject teachers before it goes live. Each question is paired with its rubric to give students an authentic exam-style experience.
Can I see my students’ responses and progress?
Yes. You get full visibility of your students’ responses and progress on the reporting page. You can also view the AI feedback and marking rubrics from within the relevant activity.
What kind of teacher reporting can I access?
You can see senior revision progress, so you can quickly identify who’s on track and who needs extra support. Reporting includes:
Marks by question
Marks for the activity
Attempts and pasted content
Student growth
Students’ extended responses
Can students resubmit answers after receiving feedback?
Yes, students can retry long-response questions. Once an activity is complete, they can access these questions from within the activity, from the homepage, or from the report.
If a student reattempts, will I see both attempts in the report?
Yes, you can see responses from multiple attempts in your reports.
Is this suitable for independent revision at home?
Yes. Senior Exam Revision is designed for students to revise assigned activities in their own time and environment. Rubric-aligned AI feedback gives them immediate feedback on their responses, with the option to edit and resubmit their answers.
What about exam conditions?
Revision is designed to be formative. By providing real-time feedback, it helps students revise and improve their exam-writing skills using authentic questions and stimuli.
Exam practice features, including Lockdown Browser, a timer, and delayed feedback, have been identified as likely future product capabilities to be developed.
Can it help students who don’t know how to structure extended responses?
Yes. Senior Exam Revision provides personalised, rubric-aligned AI feedback, along with specific guidance on metacognitive verbs and parameters. This helps students understand how questions are structured and how to best answer them.
Does this work alongside our existing revision program?
Yes, Senior Exam Revision can be used alongside other tools you might already be using. EP’s solution focuses specifically on the evidence-driven combination of retrieval of knowledge and immediate scaffolded feedback. Students can learn and improve independently through personalised, rubric-aligned feedback on extended responses.
Will Senior Exam Revision be available in WA, SA, and ACT?
Currently, our focus is on providing aligned resources and the best value for Years 7–10.
By focusing on foundational years, we’re building a strong base for introducing senior revision in Western Australia (WA), South Australia (SA), and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) when it’s ready for release.
Does the metacognitive learning guide only appear after the student clicks submit?
Yes. Currently, the learning guide (with metacognitive reflective questions) and the AI feedback both appear only once the student has submitted their answer.
For NSW, are the rubrics taken from past exam papers?
Wherever possible, rubrics come from the most authoritative source available, typically past exam papers or rubrics provided by the exam board. NSW is the trickiest because every question carries its own custom rubric.
Is there anything teachers can do to detect AI-generated or copy-pasted responses?
Yes. Copy-pasted content is highlighted in student responses, so you can clearly see which content was typed and which was pasted. Students see a notification when they paste content into the response field, but they aren’t blocked from doing so.
When a student reattempts a long-answer question, do they redo the whole activity or just that question?
Just the long-answer question. Students can reattempt straight away within the activity after receiving feedback.
Alternatively, once the student submits the activity, they can select the Reattempt link under each extended-response question. This takes them back into that specific question with their previous text preserved, so they can edit and improve it.
Multiple-choice questions can’t be reattempted at this stage.
Is the indicative mark the student receives tied to the rubric?
Yes. The indicative mark is generated against the question’s rubric.
How does Senior Exam Revision relate to EP’s Learning Cycle?
The first release of Senior Exam Revision sits within EP’s existing Learning Cycle. It covers three parts of the cycle: guided practice, independent practice, and targeted/explicit instruction.
It operates as a continuous, cyclical feedback loop: students practise exam-style questions, students receive feedback, teachers use the resulting data to adjust instruction, and the cycle repeats. Together, these form the “assessment as learning” experience that underpins exam revision.
What data will be collected, and how will it be managed?
All data is handled in line with Education Perfect’s Privacy Policy, including:
Student data is stored securely in data centres located in Australia and is never sent outside Australia.
Your data is never sold or distributed.
As an extra precaution, we strongly advise that teachers and students avoid entering personally identifiable information (PII) into AI prompts.
If student responses aren’t used to train the model, what is?
We use a combination of leading AI models to deliver high-quality feedback. This includes off-the-shelf models from reputable vendors like Anthropic on AWS Bedrock and Gemini on Google Vertex (all hosted in Australia/CA region). Those labs train on their own data, not ours.
We adopt newer models as they improve, and we refine our prompts based on feedback and QA evaluations using synthesised data. We don’t train our own models, and no student or teacher data is ever shared with our model providers.
What should I do if the app isn’t working properly?
Try closing and reopening the app, or restarting your device. If the issue persists, make sure you have the latest version installed.
