Term | Definition |
AI | Artificial Intelligence. A general term for software programs which produce output or act in a way that resembles human intelligence or behaviour. |
Bias | The responses of an AI system can reflect or sometimes exacerbate existing or past human social biases, example inequality among certain groups. |
Errors | Factually incorrect information produced by an AI system. |
Generative AI | A specific field of artificial intelligence that creates content (text, images, etc) by inferring and learning from patterns in data. Often abbreviated as Gen AI. |
Guardrails | Restrictions programmed into AI systems / computer code that prevents or minimises potentially harmful, biased or unethical system behaviour. |
Hallucinations | A type of error in an AI system which is completely made up information presented as fact. |
LLM | Large language model: a computational technique used in AI systems that generates human-like text. |
