EP for School: Parent/Guardian Reporting

EP recognises the importance of enabling easy and efficient connections between schools and parents/guardians. To support this, we provide a Weekly Parent Report email to parents that summarises their child's learning on EP for the week. Schools decide if they would like to provide these weekly emails to their parent/guardian community.

Parent/Guardian Reporting is currently in development. The expected date of release will be confirmed as soon as possible.

The emails are sent once per week, per student, and collate the learning for the student across all subjects into the one email. Information includes:

  • A list of all tasks from the previous week, including time spent and % completion.

  • Upcoming tasks for the coming week.

No accuracy or assessment data is included. This remains in the hands of teachers on a case-by-case basis in the Assessment creation flow. 


How do I set this up for my school?

  • Get in touch with us at support@educationperfect.com to let us know you’d like to enable this feature. 
    • If you are not someone with sign off authority, please check in with someone from your leadership team to get permission to set this up on behalf of your school first.
  • Once we have confirmed that we have enabled this feature for your school, the next step is to make sure students have at least one parental email address assigned to their account. If you’re unsure how to do this, see below for more information.

Do I need permission to set this up for my school?

Yes, if you are not someone who can sign off on opting into this feature on behalf of your school, please speak to your leadership team to check that it’s fine to enable this feature for your school first. If you are someone who can sign off on accessing this feature and would like to enable it, get in touch with us at support@educationperfect.com.

Can parents contact EP directly to set this up?

No, this is first in the hands of each school to decide if they would like to offer it to their parent community. 

What if parents don’t want to receive these emails?

Parents have the ability to opt out of receiving these emails - by either contacting the school, contacting EP, or simply through a link in the Weekly Parent Report email itself.

Can I have this feature on for some students but not others?

Yes. Simply let us know which parents/guardians you would like to receive the Weekly Parent Report.

How do I get parent emails attached to student accounts?

In the same format as your regular class enrolments, send through a list of students (to support@educationperfect.com or directly through the Enrolment Portal) and include an extra column for each parental email you’d like assigned to a student’s account. We’ll update this for you on our end. If you need a reminder how to send through lists or what format enrolments should be in, see here.

I already have parent emails assigned to student accounts, do we already have access to this?

No - you will not automatically have access to this feature, someone from your school who can sign off on enabling this feature will need to get in touch with us to confirm whether you would like to enable access.

Does this mean a student can have more than one parent email assigned now?

Yes, that’s right! You can now attach two (or more) parent/guardian email addresses, per student account. If you have students who have previously operated with one parent/guardian email address but need additional added, send us a list of additional emails and we will update accounts accordingly.

Will these emails be centralised for a student or by subject?

The email will be sent once per week, per student. It will collate the subjects into one email.

What will parents see, and how does it compare to what teachers see?

Parents/guardians will see the subject and names of tasks from the last 7 days, as well as any tasks already set for the following 7 days. The tasks will have the percentage completion and time spent doing the task. This does not include information on accuracy, or any results from Assessments. 

Are there any other parent features available?

Not just yet, but we are investing time into developing a Parent/Guardian version of the EP app. Keep an eye out for email and newsfeed updates for more details on when this will become available.

I have feedback to give on this feature, how can I share it with EP?

If you have any feedback (good or bad), you can let us know by emailing in to support@educationperfect.com. It will get passed on to our Product and Engineering Team to review when they can.

What is the cost to add this feature?

This feature will be included in your existing subscription fee, no extra costs required!

If I ever needed to, is it easy to turn this feature off?

If you are needing to turn this feature off, it’s a flick of a switch to enable and disable. Since this affects the whole school, if you are not someone who has sign off authority to make this change, please speak to your leadership team prior to confirm that you have permission to do so.
