EP Humanities Assessments

Here are some useful help videos on 3 different EP Humanities assessments.

3 Types of Humanities Assessments:

On EP Humanities there are 3 different forms of Assessment available. Quick Tests, Pre-Built Assessments and Create Your Own. Quick Tests allow a teacher to choose questions from existing content and lessons to quickly build a test. A teacher can choose questions from different lessons in a topic or questions from different topics. Each unit in EP Humanities has a pre-built topic test, teachers can use these by choosing the Pre-Built option. Teachers can also create their own assessments by writing their own questions and/or copying in existing questions, but still being able to use the powerful auto-marking, reporting and remediation tools.

One of the benefits of each type of assessment on EP is the Auto-Remediation tool. Each assessment will either automatically assign students lessons to complete to strengthen any areas of weakness or will provide recommendations to the teacher of lessons a student should complete next.

How to Create a Quick Test:

On EP Humanities a teacher can conduct pre and post-tests and then compare the results of both assessments to identify areas of growth for both the whole class and individual students. The comparison of results assists in identifying where students have had success, where the class have strengthened their areas of knowledge and identifies areas for further support or differentiation by topic.

The short video below demonstrates how to compare 2 Humanities Assessments.

Quick Tests are great for pre-testing, pop quizzes and class starters. They allow the teacher to quickly choose questions from existing lessons and topics to quickly build a test.

How to Use a Pre-Built Assessment:

On EP Humanities a teacher can conduct pre and post-tests and then compare the results of both assessments to identify areas of growth for both the whole class and individual students. The comparison of results assists in identifying where students have had success, where the class have strengthened their areas of knowledge and identifies areas for further support or differentiation by topic. The short video below demonstrates how to compare 2 Humanities Assessments.

Below are some helpful videos on how to assign Pre-Built assessment in EP Humanities. EP Humanities has a pre-built topic test in almost every topic for History, Geography, Economics and Business and Civics and Citizenship. Please see the examples below on how to assign one of these to your students.

How to Create Your Own Assessment:

Teachers can create their own assessments for formative and summative assessment. You can copy questions that already exist in EP, or create your own questions. You can also add analysis tags for reporting purposes and tag specific lessons to questions so that students will be given recommended next steps at the end of the assessment.

How does Targeted-Remediation work:

Every EP Assessment allows the teacher to use our Targeted-Remediation feature. This will provide recommendations for each student of tasks they should complete to strengthen any areas they may have struggled with in the assessment. It creates an individualised learning pathway, differentiated for each student, providing them with the lessons that each student needs.
