Getting Started with Education Perfect Social Sciences (NZ)
Social Sciences as a subject is the study of how societies work and how people can participate as critical, active, informed, and responsible citizens. Social Sciences contexts are drawn from the past, present, and future and from places within and beyond New Zealand.
Our Social Sciences resource is going through big changes as we build, adapt and structure new and existing content to the NZ Curriculum.
Education Perfect is a powerful content authoring tool that enables teachers to customise EP lessons or build their own from scratch. Teachers also have the ability to share/collaborate with other educators in NZ and beyond through our public content library.
We have content aligned to the nine NZ Level 5 Social Sciences learning objectives:
- Business, Enterprise and Innovation
- Cultural Interaction
- Economic Decisions
- Human Rights
- Movement of Peoples
- People in the Past
- Resources and Sustainability
- Systems of Government
- Te tiriti o Waitangi
Currently, our resource also covers NCEA Level 1 and 2 Geographic Skills External Standards and provides a wide range of additional extension lessons across the fields of Geography and History. This extension material is taken from our Australian content, but teaches a wide range of concepts and information relevant to the Social Sciences subject.
