About Group and District Reporting

The article outlines reporting for groups/districts, covering enrollments, student engagement, and teacher engagement.

  • Enrollments include data on enrolled schools, students, and teachers, both overall and broken down by month, subject, level, and school.
  • Student Engagement tracks instances of students answering questions in assessments and lessons, by month and school. Note - students repeating content are only counted once per month.
  • Teacher Engagement measures active teachers, assessments and lessons set, and teacher assignment activity, also by month and school. Note - students repeating content are only counted once per month.
  • Learning Snapshots provide assessment results by school, and grade. The assessment results will be displayed by strand, overall and specific expectation so District leaders can identify gaps in student knowledge, and plan based on the best opportunities for intervention.

All data is restricted to the current academic year, and for some groups, subjects and levels may be limited. Filters for all sections include group name, school, subject, and level.

Enrollments

Tables

Number of schools enrolled

Number of schools in the group with any students or teachers enrolled in current academic year classes.

Students enrolled

Number of students enrolled in current academic year classes,

Teachers enrolled

Number of teachers enrolled in current academic year classes.

Enrolled user by month

Number of students and teachers enrolled in current academic year classes.

Student enrolments by subject and level

Number of students enrolled in current academic year classes by the level and subject of those current academic year classes.

Total students and teachers enrolled by school

Number of students and teachers enrolled in current academic year classes by the school that those classes are in.

Data restrictions

Classes must be current academic year

For some groups we limit subjects and year levels to those requested by the group

Student Engagement

Tables

Assessments this academic year

The number of unique instances of students enrolled in current academic year classes answering questions towards an assessment. If four students each take an assessment, this would be 4. If they each then take the same assessment again, this would still be 4.

Lessons this academic year

The number of unique instances of students enrolled in current academic year classes answering questions towards a lesson, whether assigned through a task or not. As above, students repeating content subsequent times does not increase this number.

Student engagement by month

The number of unique instances of students answering questions towards lessons/assessments, per month.

Students repeating content within the same month will not increase the count for a given month.

Students repeating content across different months will be counted once per month. For this reason, the sum of the bars will not necessarily sum up perfectly to the Lessons/Assessments this academic year.

Student engagement by school

Students enrolled in current academic year classes and who have logged in are counted here, alongside the total number of unique instances of students answering questions towards assessments and towards lessons, whether assigned through a task or not.

Teacher Engagement

Tables

Active teachers this academic year

Teachers enrolled in current academic year classes who have logged in this year

Assessments set this academic year

Number of unique instances of teachers enrolled in current academic year classes setting assessments for those classes.

For example if one teacher sets two assessments, this number would be two. If that teacher sets the same assessments again for different classes, then the number would not increase.

A different teacher setting those same two assessments would increase the number from two to four, because we are counting combinations of teacher/assessment, rather than just unique assessments themselves.

Lessons set this academic year

Same as above but for unique combinations of teachers and the lessons they are setting through tasks. Tasks can contain multiple lessons and it’s the lessons that we’re counting so we generally expect this number to be higher than assessments set

Active teachers by month

Teachers enrolled in current academic year classes who have logged in per month

Teacher assignment by month

The number of unique instances of teachers enrolled in current academic year classes setting lessons/assessments for those classes, per month.

Teachers re-assigning content within the same month will not increase the count for a given month.

Teachers re-assigning content across different months will be counted once per month. For this reason, the sum of the bars will not necessarily sum up perfectly to the Lessons/Assessments this academic year.

Teacher engagement by school

Teachers enrolled in current academic year classes and who have logged in are counted here, by school, alongside the total number of unique instances of teachers setting lessons and assessments.

Learning Snapshots for Districts

The data in this level of the reporting is rolled up from the class level, this means teachers, school leaders and district leaders are all looking at the same data.

Gaps in knowledge will be highlighted at the following levels of the curriculum.

  • Strand
  • Overall expectation
  • Specific expectation

District leaders will be able to drill down to see student results by school. This will allow district leaders to give schools targets support.

Filters:

District leaders are able to filter data by date, grade, subject, and school to see student growth, and track interventions. Subject and grade level filters are mandatory for data to be present in the report.

School filters will be persistent, so a district leader can focus on a selected set of schools.

District leaders can filter students' results  by levels of achievement. Definitions of the levels are below.

  • NE 0-49%
  • Level 1 50-59%
  • Level 2 60-69%
  • Level 3 70-79%
  • Level 4 80-100%

Students need to have submitted an assessment for their data to be included in the data.

Data restrictions:

If a school has less than one class in a grade, then this data will not be available in group reporting. EP does not provide any data that allows teachers to be identified.
