Education Perfect Maths and the NZ Curriculum
Education Perfect's platform is designed to address the specific needs of the NZC and varying levels of student ability. By combining pedagogical rigour, digital tools and actionable data, we ensure that both teachers and students are fully supported across the entire teaching and learning cycle. With EP, every student can confidently learn and apply the knowledge and practices as required by the New Zealand Curriculum.
EP has long supported NZ Maths teachers across Years 4-10 and at NCEA Levels 1-3. Now, we have partnered with the MoE to provide online Maths resources for Years 9-10 (including lessons and assessments) to all secondary schools across the motu. As part of that partnership, Education Perfect will also support NZC-aligned content for Years 7 and 8. We have a dedicated and experienced New Zealand team that works with teachers and kaiako to produce resources that both align to the latest version of the NZC and reflect the lived realities of New Zealand students.
Following the recent release of the updated Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum, we are following a two-stage approach to aligning our Year 7-10 content:
- Stage 1: Focused on ensuring teachers have what they need to support delivery of the new NZC Maths from the start of the school year. This includes alignment of our comprehensive selection of existing materials and surfacing the new Y7-10 curriculum structure and terminology within the platform.
- Stage 2: Creation of brand-new, purpose-built courses for Y7-10, with an integrated model of learning, assessment and reporting against the new curriculum. This work will be iteratively released from day 1, Term 1 2026, replacing and improving upon the Stage 1 content. The first priority will be the strands Number, Algebra and Measurement for Years 9-10. These changes will be made continuously with regular additions of resources and with no disruption to teachers and students.
The entire team at EP is here to help teachers and kaiako navigate the new curriculum and integrate it seamlessly into your programmes. To that end, please use these guides to assist with your planning:
