EP’s Discover tool

What is it?

Discover is the future of finding and assigning EP content. Teachers can search or browse by curriculum-aligned subjects and topics to find lessons to assign to students.

How can I access it?

Simply navigate to the Discover tab using EP's main navigation bar on the left hand side of your screen.

The Search field at the top is designed to quickly find and access specific content by searching for EP content including activities, lessons, lists, and assessments. It supports searching by title or curriculum codes, making it even easier to align with your school's unique scope and sequence.

Filtering your view

Use the filters at the top of Discover to narrow down what you're looking at:

  • Curriculum: Select the curriculum framework that applies to your class, such as Australian Curriculum v9.0.
  • Subject : Choose the subject area you want to browse, such as Mathematics or English.
  • Year level: Filter content by the year level you're teaching.
  • Topic view / Assessment view: Toggle between views.

Topic view shows the standard layout of topic cards organised by strand.

Switch to Assessment view to see all assessments across the pathway grouped by strand and topic, so you can assign them without navigating into individual topics.

Assessment view

From Assessment view you can:

  • Assign an assessment directly using the Assign button on any assessment card - no need to dig into individual topics first
  • Open the full topic by clicking the topic name to see all content in context
  • Switch back to your standard topic layout at any time by selecting Topic view from the same dropdown

Understanding topic cards

On each topic card you'll see the total number of content types inside, marked by a few symbols:

  • Assessments are marked by the A+ symbol, with the graph symbol beside it indicating if Learning Snapshots are available for them
  • Lessons are marked by the lightbulb symbol
  • Translation lists are marked by the pinyin symbol
  • Spelling lists are marked by the ABC symbol
  • Fact lists are marked by the bullet point symbol

New and updated topics

We highlight our constant content development on topic cards with NEW and UPDATED badges so you can always see the latest EP resources.

Topic Overviews

In your subject and topic of choice, you’ll see a list of lessons sequenced to progress students through units of work and achieve specific learning outcomes. From here, you can easily assign tasks to your students.

Curriculum tags (and curriculum outcomes if available) are also displayed within topics, helping to identify relevant work.

If the topic you select has compatible Recommended Next Steps and/or Learning Snapshots, the Legends section of the page contains a helpful description of what to expect.

Adding Topics to the Course Planner

From Discover, teachers can add Topics to their Course Planner in two ways:

  1. Adding the Full Topic through the 'Add topic to course' button on the top right of the page
  2. Adding a Partial Topic by selecting the specific activities you want and using the 'Add selected to a course' button.

Teachers then decide which class/es and term/s the Topics will be added to.

Assigning work from Discover

Discover is one of the primary ways teachers can search, select, and assign lessons or assessments to students in Education Perfect. This guide covers how to select content, assign it, and track what has already been assigned using the new Classwork indicators.

Just select the activities you would like to assign and click the 'Assign activities' button. You can multi-select and assign Learning activities of the same type, but assessments can only be assigned one at a time.

  1. In the Discover page, browse by subject, year level, or curriculum strand, or use the search bar to locate specific lessons or assessments.
  2. Use the checkboxes to select one or multiple items.
  3. Click Assign activities, and then select Task or Quiz.

  1. To assign a pre-built assessment, click Assign next to the assessment. Note: Only one assessment can be assigned at a time.
