We’re saying goodbye to EP for Home

We will soon stop supporting EP for Home. This article outlines why we're doing this, as well as next steps for active users.

What's happening?

It is with regret that we announce that we will soon stop supporting EP for Home.

It’s been a privilege to work with so many wonderful homeschooling families, however, we are unable to continue investing in the product & personnel support required to meet the unique needs of the community.

The decision to discontinue EP for Home did not come lightly. As our product continues to evolve, it moves further away from meeting the needs of our homeschooling community. In an effort to ensure we align our resources to achieve the greatest educational impact, we conducted a full scale review of the support required to meet the unique needs of the community. This included platform enhancements, content rebuilding, and personnel to support the data, software & operations of the product.

What does this mean for me?

To give you extra time to find a new solution and to retrieve your EP data, we have decided to extend access to EP until April 12th, 2024. Please ensure you have downloaded your data by this date; after this, you will no longer be able to access the platform. 

We will also be offering this at no cost to you. This means you will have free access from 1st January, 2024 and will be refunded any remaining subscription you may have paid for after this date. We will process these by January 31st, 2024. 

If you have cancelled your subscription since our announcement on November 15th, 2023, you will also receive this period of free access. Your access will be reinstated automatically on 1st January, 2024 and there is no need to contact support.

These updates are in line with the updated terms and conditions we notified you about on November 20th, 2023.

Can we still utilise EP as a 'School'?

We understand the desire to form a homeschooling 'School', and this was discussed internally as an option as part of this decision. However, the technical development to ensure our product works effectively and complies with data privacy laws and best practices means that this is not a feasible option.

Refunds and renewals

Soon, EP for Home users will no longer be able to access the platform.

Any refund owing will be processed by January 31st.

Exporting your work history

Once you're ready to stop using EP for Home, we recommend that you export your work history so that you can have a copy for your records. Learn how to do this here.

To assist homeschooling families with a smooth transition to a new provider we have partnered with two fantastic Learning Platforms:

Euka

Euka is the largest online full-time education provider in Australia for K-12 students, offering comprehensive subject and curriculum coverage.

Simply Homeschool

Simply Homeschool is an Australian homeschool curriculum by Homeschoolers for Homeschoolers with coverage for K-12 and is designed to cater to diverse needs.

We recognise the strong community that has been built around EP for Home, and we will keep this dedicated Facebook group active until December 31st, 2023. This platform will serve as a space for sharing experiences and resources.

We also recommend reaching out to your local homeschooling authority for further support, if required.

Updates to Terms and Conditions

As of November 20th 2023, we hereby give you 14 days notice that we are changing the clause entitled Changes to Subscription Plans and/or Price. The new clause will read as follows and be effective on the elapse of 14 days:

Changes to Subscription Plans and/or Price:

We reserve the right to change our subscription plans and/or price of our service at any time and/or remove the subscription plan at any time. If you have an existing subscription, we will at our sole discretion either, (a) honour the subscription plan and pricing applicable to your subscription until your current Subscription Period expires or, (b) cease providing that subscription plan earlier and provide a pro-rata refund of the price you paid, such refund being calculated from the date that specific subscription plan is withdrawn for what would have been the period to the end of the Subscription Period had it not been withdrawn, or (c) at our discretion in undertaking (b) allow you continued access to that subscription plan for a period of time we state in our notice that relates to the subscription plan that is being withdrawn and without charge during that period, only to manage your ability to take copy of data you used in that subscription plan which data we have allowed to be available to you to download for your records and/or to give you that notice time to start to plan any alternate resource.

As from any notice to withdraw a subscription plan we will not accept any further paid renewals of that subscription plan.

Payment by us of any refund and/or any extension of time stated in a notice, shall be in full satisfaction of any liability we may have to you for such subscription plan and its removal. For ongoing subscription plans, we will notify you of any changes to your ongoing subscription plan or pricing in writing at a reasonable timeframe in advance of your auto-renewal.
