Language Teaching for Non-Specialists: The Essentials

Course information
This free online course covers the basic principles of foreign language teaching.
Participants will work through 10 highly interactive EP lessons independently. These lessons include video content as well as additional readings/resources.
Participants also have access to EP Language learning courses to build their proficiency in the language of their choice.
Who is the course suitable for?
The course is designed for non-specialist teachers who are required to teach languages.
The course is also an excellent refresher for experienced language teachers.
How do I access the course?
Please register here by the 20 October.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your registration. On 24 October, you will receive an email with your EP account details to access the course content.
Is there any cost for the course?
No, this course is free.

When does the course start?
The first cohort kicks off on 24 October.
If I can't start in October. Will there be another opportunity to complete the course?
We will run another cohort in February 2023 and then again in 2023. The dates are TBC but check back soon for more info.
How much time will the course take?
The course consists of a series of 10 lessons which each take 1-2 hours to complete. Participants will work through these lessons at their own pace.
You're also able to complete the EP Languages course of your choice. The time for this will depend on what level of language you are working at and how much time you would like to devote to this.
Is there a time by when I need to finish the course?
You can take as long as you need to finish the course, but to receive a certificate in our first round of certificate processing, you will need to complete the course by 28 February 2023.
What's included?
There will be a welcome webinar for all participants at the following times. Participants can choose the session that suits them best:
- Monday, 24 October: 4:30 pm (Eastern time)
- Monday, 24 October: 3:30 pm (Pacific time)
- Tuesday, 25 October: 3:30 pm (UAE time)
Participants are also invited to book a consultation with EP's Global Languages Curriculum Specialist to provide support and guidance on running their language program, as well as join a LinkedIn group where there will be regular posts and discussions.
Every participant who completes the course will receive the following:
- A completion certificate.
- A LinkedIn certification/badge for their profile.
